Half term Percussion Workshops

Pied Piper is delighted to be able to continue our FREE half term music making programme for 7 - 11 year olds with a visit from percussion and piano duo Unit Six. These workshops are part of the NYMAZ programme, funded by Youth Music.

Unit Six are a dynamic percussion and piano duo whose intesity and communicative power have ensured their position at the forefront of contemporary music. A Unit Six workshop will introduce participants to a fascinating selection of instruments with origins spanning across the globe!

In these exciting hands-on drumming and percussion workshops, the participants will learn how to play a variety of different percussion instruments from around the world. The workshpo leaders will inspire the participants as they discover the vibrant history and cultrues surrounding the instruments. From the remote plains of Africa to the bustline streets of South Americam the gruop will find out how fun, accessible and reward live music can be.

The workshpos will focus on helping the participants develop their own musical interests and passions, and will culminate the creation of a new piece of original music. This will be rehearsed and performed by the gruop and will showcase all of the skills that they have learnt during the session.
