Scottish Folk Music & Dance Workshops

Pied Piper is delighted to be able to offer opportunities for children aged 7 - 11 to take part in FREE workshops exploring Scottish folk music, song and dance during the Summer half term. These workshops are delivered by Pied Piper as part of the NYMAZ programme.

Multi-instrumentalists Laura Grime and Michael Haywood will take participants on a journey across Scotland, giving them opportunities to experience the different traditional through the country from the Islands to Highlands! Children will learn folk songs, create soundscapes to represent different parts of Scotland, listen to the storeis and legends of Scotland and, of course, have a go at Ceilidh dancing and even the Highland Fling!

Each workshop will conclude with a short performance by the participants for their families and friends, giving a platform for them to showcase their new skills.
