Musical Me - a NEW project from Pied Piper
Following the success of Global Villages, Pied Piper's holiday programme for 7 - 11 year olds, we're delighted to be able to offer a continuation project for young people aged 11 - 14!
During October half term percussion duo Meridian will be running FREE workshops for young people who are interested in making and performing music, but who don't necessarily play an instrument or read music.

Workshops will provide young people with an opportunity to learn the basic techniques required to play a variety of tuned percussion and drums. Once they have matsered these basic skils, the group will learn grooves and melodies from around the world, and tehse will be used as the basis for rhythmic and melodic improvsiation.
Throughout the day, participants will develop their own music ideas through group activities, leading to the creation of an original piece of music which will be performed at the end of the workshop.
Pied Piper is extremely grateful to the funders of this project Arts Council England and Ryedale District Council.
